About the Recipe


  • ½ cup uncooked quinoa

  • 1 cup rolled oats certified gluten free

  • ½ teaspoon aluminium free baking soda

  • 1 tablespoon freshly grounded flax seeds powder

  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • 250ml unsweetened almond milk or any plant based milk of your choice

  • 50ml maple syrup


  1. Combine the quinoa and oats in a blender. Blend the mixture to a fine consistency (like flour).

  2. Add in the baking soda, cinnamon, flax seeds powder, salt, maple syrup, and almond milk, then blend until combined (in between stop the blender and scrape down the sides to ensure it's evenly incorporated).

  3. Spread 1 tsp of desi ghee / coconut oil to waffle iron tawa. Pour the batter into that.

  4. Cook waffles for 5 minutes until golden brown. Top as desired with fresh fruit, chopped nuts, coconut whipped cream or simply pour on the maple syrup.

  5. Serve immediately.
